Lullaby

There’s a boy in the night who

Seeks refuge in the dark;

Flashes of stellar brightness,

Flames of gold, fluorescent –

Parading beside the pale lunar crescent

Dimmed.

A carnival of universal matter,

Fireworks of the luminous void

Like an eclipse; deconstructed

Detonating; in silent harmony.

The boy lies on the dewy cover

Of the rain-kissed, natural expanse

Of this gift of Gaia observing,

Content, his visual lullaby –

A melody resounding, soundless

With radiating vibrance

In his tear-stained eyes uncovered

By the beauty of the Earth.
