Moonlit

I stood, lonesome, beneath swaying trees

Their shadows flickered in a moonlit breeze

The starlight danced where the darkness grew

The sand, miles long, an infinite view

A boat in the distance, lit by the moon

Its sails held captive, its hull battered and strewn

The seagull perched, on the lonely mast

Overlooking the night’s starry forecast

The waves of sea, and people’s voices entwined

A chorus of life, both harsh and kind

The tide pulled my thoughts, washed away on their own

Carrying silence where noise had once grown

The moon’s dazzling light carved a shimmering line

A path into horizon, a future divine

For now, I lingered, caught in the night

Bound by the sea, the sand, and the light
