My greatest fear

I’m in a work interview, I would say the most important one that i have done until today. It’s for my dream job, everything has to be perfect. The girl that’s interviewing me has started asking usual questions, she seems so nice. We are in a white modern room, with a big desk in the middle. She’s on one side, I’m on the other side of the table and she has a big computer in front of her.

As the interview goes on, the questions are more specific and, sometimes she writes things down. I’m pretty calm now. She is writing something and I’m looking around the room. Suddenly, I notice that there’s something off, but she asks another thing, so my attention goes back to her. But as soon as I can I look back to something that called my attention previously. There’s a giant Spider! I can’t stand spiders. She’s in the corner, but she’s moving. The room is not big so the spider is quite close to me. I would say that’s a Tarantula, but I’m not sure though.

I’m starting to panic. The spider is moving and the girl is asking me a lot of questions. But I can’t focus. I can’t stop looking at the spider. I don’t wanna say anything because she’s gonna think that I’m crazy. I look at the time, it’s only been 2 minutes since I saw the spider. I still have 40 minutes of the interview left. I won’t be able to stand 40 minutes with the spider there looking at me. “Are you ok?” She has realized that there’s something wrong. Thank goodness. I told her that there’s a spider in the corner and that they scare me a little bit, so that was distracting me. Now she’s calling someone, probably security to take her away.

The interviewer is super nice. She just apologized to me for the spider, and asked if I wanted to continue with the interview. Of course I want to. Now I have calmed down and I think she can notice it in the way I answer the questions now.
