How much are we willing to sacrifice?

She raced across the purple moors following the light

It was close but yet so far

Its weakening rays fought against the dark veil of the night

It shone in the sky like a dying star

Her only hope was slowly flickering away

She had so much power and yet she had none

The wind did her heart not sway

Had the darkness won?

She had power, but it made her suffer

For for this power, she had sacrificed  love

Flames of rage did her smother

That night was there no sign of the white dove

She had been full of hatred and fury

but that had evaporated to join the dark fog

the trees around her had become eerie

but the light shined brighter and stronger

as her hope grew, it started as a drop, and then a puddle and then a lake

and she felt a soft warm sparkle kindle in her heart

she had found what she had been looking for

Love
