social media, our world today,
connects people from far.
yet takes our loved ones away,
not knowing who we are.
updates us with trends,
shades us from reality.
helps us like a friend,
filterers out the normality.
makes us feel like a star,
yet the void always stays.
the joy and wonders that we are,
lost in the digital maze.
a polished mask,
yet so fake
shimmers like glass,
without it all is at stake.
a race that will never end,
success measured by of likes
imperfection in our minds
is this true life?
a glowing skin,
a smile so wide.
the perfect waist,
but the pain we can’t hide.
