Simple, we are

A human pain is sane

It’s just a sandy grain in beaches of existence.

It is unpleasant, inconvenient. But still –

The fact it is, may just be better than it isn’t.

When there’s no bother in the realm of sense

When numbness shuts it out –

That’s when the people that we think we love

Finally go insane. It’s all the same.

Humans fear pain. Not just because it hurts,

It also makes us see. The things

About ourselves we will never perceive,

Ones we perhaps do not want to

Conceive. In our complexity,

In our essence we are just so simple.

To animals we are akin.

Our pain exists, and yet we’ll never fully know it –

It’s just something every success has seen.
