Screaming and crying,
That’s how we are born.
Splitting the open air,
Turning fury into light
By wearing out our voices.
We grow, learn, play
Until a certain age.
The world feels distant,
Blurred at the edges,
Too far away.
We kiss in a corner,
We cry in another.
Too many choices,
So little time.
Uncertainty burns within us
In the fading light,
Until, at last,
We decide where to shine.
We take a job,
Build a life,
The same stupid routine.
Humdrum, humdrum.
We start a family,
Call it love,
Call it legacy.
Paying the price:
The pain of labor,
Daily worry,
Sleepless nights.
Still, somehow,
We manage to stay-
Finding joy in ordinary days.
To be honest, look to the stars
In the quiet night,
Be forthright,
And let your heart grow light.
Time passes,
And we remain.
Wrinkles on the face,
Hands trembling,
The mind remembering
The free youth days.
Above us, the stars
Burn without hurry.
Ancient witnesses
To our borrowed time.
We flare like comets-
Brief, blazing,
Certain of our fall.
In the end, we know
It’s time to close the grave.
One last sigh of rage-
A fading spark
Returning to the dark
That once called itself sky.
