The world we live in is disgusting.
The world and its environment, potential for greatness.
And yet,
We’re all so screwed. The screwed up world which I want to be sure has tons to offer,
In terms of knowledge, ingenuity. Yet ordinary freedoms are constrained
By money and by power.
The system isn’t broken, it was precisely built this way.
In all the infinite of Earth’s great points, people still choose to kill
And rape, and torture.
It seems as though with greatest resources
Comes absence of good conscience.
And in this world that’s just the worst
I want to help people, for better or for worse.
I’ve given effort to try and understand
Why human suffering will never have an end. Is it because of systems
That have been put in place? Or of the scumbags due to whom
Our systems are disgraced? Truth is, I don’t exactly know.
But those in power, those with influence
– they know.
Oh yes, they know. We even know they know. Although,
The perpetrators and the predators we never persecute.
Our cowardice is certainly acute.
